This Grand Reserve Wine was aged in French oak. This delicious red wine is a proprietary master blend of two great grape varieties that have been blended together for centuries. Merlot gives tremendous up-front red fruit layers and Cabernet Sauvignon lends balance and structure. This wine has hints of vanilla and dark spices such as black pepper.
Food Pairing: This Merlot-Cab Grand Reserve food pairing is best served with nearly all red meats, including prime rib filet mignon, lamb, or pepper- crusted fish. This wine is best enjoyed with food and is great in sauces or reductions. Be sure to avoid rice because the starches won’t mellow out the harsh tannins in the wine. It’s important to serve the wine the right way which includes serving the wine a little chilled and opening the bottle one hour prior to drinking.
